During the design of the heart blood pump it is essential to design a perfect outflow cannula because the blood must flow freely inside the tube. There must not be any areas in the cannula where the blood can slow down or even stop. Baren-Boym Company has been contracted by Levitronix Inc to perform the analysis of the blood cannula. We have found areas in the cannula that may present problems. They have been redesigned and final CFD analysis confirmed a superior cannula design.
