This is a fragment of a heavy duty conveyer. The belt and guards removed for better visibility. The major challenges were – needed to have ability to quickly change any roll (in case of damage) without realignment. Solution – split pillow blocks allow performing quick disassembly by removing just four bolts – two from each pillow block. The bases of pillow blocks retain their initial aligned position, allowing replacing rolls without realignment. Dirt and particles are not allowed on the roll surface. Solution – a specially formulated dirt repellant and electrically conductive (to dissipate electrostatic charge) elastomer has been used specifically for this application. Precise speed control is provided by connecting all rolls with the timing belt and by use of state-of-the-art motion control system
