This is a fragment of a complete automated production line. Production line was designed in joint efforts with the client and installed under the supervision of Baren-Boym company on the production floor. Challenges – needed to have ability to quickly change any roll in case of damage without realignment. Solution – split pillow blocks allow performing quick disassembly by removing just four bolts – two from each pillow block. The bases of pillow blocks retain their initial aligned position, allowing replacing rolls without realignment. Dirt and particles are not allowed on the roll surface. Solution – specially formulated dirt repellant and electrically conductive (to dissipate electrostatic charge) elastomer has been used specifically for this application. Precise speed control is provided by connecting all rolls with the timing belt and by use of state-of-the-art motion control system.
