Baren-Boym Company developed 3D file Converter. It allows to save SolidWorks files and assemblies to native 3D Studio Max and Lightwave 3D formats. Also it saves into *.obj and *.raw formats. When SolidWorks Assemblies are saved in *.3ds and *.lwo formats all the parts in the assembly are in the separate layer so various properties can be applied to the different parts. There is a setting of the picture quality where you can reduce or increase the wiremesh density.
