Michael E. Barenboym, President and founder
Mr. Barenboym came to America from Russia where he mastered the field of physical science. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Technology (the M.I.T. equivalent) with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to founding the Baren-Boym Company in 1997 he worked in the medical device industry in both senior engineering and managerial positions. His achievements have resulted in numerous inventions in the medical device industry. Under Michael’s leadership, the Baren-Boym Company has successfully completed hundreds of engineering projects and has received multiple design excellence awards for superior product design. His entrepreneurial skills have allowed him to develop and successfully license several medical and consumer products. He also co-founded Absolute Air Shafts, Inc in 1999; Innovative Surgical, LLC in 2000; and Wadsworth Medical Technologies, Inc in 2006.
Isaac Ostrovsky, Director of Engineering
Isaac has over 20 years of disposable medical device design and development management. He brings to Baren-Boym tremendous expertise in project management with emphasis in generating new concepts, designing and developing prototypes on the beginning stages of the projects, designing and conducting feasibility studies. Proven record of successfully developed prototypes and products; the list includes: Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) Imaging Catheter; ultrasound ablation devices for treatment of uterine fibroids and incontinence; RF ablation devices for vascular and gynecological applications; implantable anchoring systems for gynecological and intra-cardio applications; implant delivery devices for urology; endoscopic articulation devices for urology; shock wave therapy device. Isaac holds Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Belorussian Polytechnic Institute, has 75 patent applications and 45 issued patents.
Alan Sliski, Director of Engineering
Mr. Sliski has over 20 years of experience in the radiation therapy device industry. His prior experience includes a number of high-tech start-ups in the Boston area developing electron beam lithography and magnetic measuring instruments, as well as working at the physics department at Harvard. Mr Sliski has a B.S. in physics from the university of Massachusetts in Amherst, has 24 patents issued, several pending and many publications in various fields.
Mark E. Kleiman, Director of Engineering
Prior to joining Baren-Boym Company Mark has served in the senior engineering and managerial positions. He is a career minded and driven hands-on professional with extensive management experience in manufacturing. His background includes: Machine and Product Design, Analytical Mechanical Engineering, Electro-mechanical devices and Vision systems, Optics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Robotics, Material Science (Metals, Heat Treatment), Chemical Processing, Web Converting (Unwinds, Rewinds, Drives, Slitting, Lamination, Drying). Mark holds Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bauman Technical Institute (1974).
Alan Oslan, Director of Electrical Engineering
Alan has over three decades of product development experience in electrical medical devices including capital equipment, disposables, and reusables with numerous products in current use. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, and an MBA from Babson University. Alan has headed up many successful projects culminating in successful market launches in diverse areas such as cardiac ablation catheters, ablation wands for arthroscopic surgery, and MRI-guided biopsy devices. He understands the technical, compliance, and business aspects of medical device development. He is also an expert in the areas of radiofrequency ablation and electrosurgery products.
Valery Rutkovskiy, Engineering Manager
Valery heads up our custom programming team and advanced FEA analysis. He graduated from Siberian Aerospace University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (aircraft and satellites structures). His education also includes post-graduate degrees from Krasnoyarsk State technical university (nonlinear FEA and theory of plasticity) and also graduated from SATW Swiss academy of technical sciences (NURBS and subdivision theories in geometry modeling). Mr. Rutkovskiy lectured nonlinear FEA courses in Germany and Swiss. Valery is the author of 43 technical and scientific publications. He is a recipient of professional certifications from Dortmund University (Germany), Polytechnic University (Lozano, Swiss), CAD/CAM Center Euclid-is in France and European Center for Nuclear research CERN 1998.
Alex Kutyaev Director, Industrial Design
Alex heads up our Industrial Design group. He graduated from Moscow Technical University with post graduate degree in Industrial Design. Alex provides effective team management and creative design leadership in his group. He is a recipient of multiple awards in the field of industrial design.
Alexander V. Lopatin Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Alexander is a top-notch specialist in composite material structures with publicized work in lattice and stiffened composite shells, buckling and vibrations of composite shells and plates. He holds Ph.D in structural mechanics and mechanics of solids. He also holds Ph.D in Aeronautical Science. His education also includes post-graduate degrees from Moscow Institute of Aviation Technology and Siberian State Aerospace University. His experience includes extensive work in aviation structures design and satellites design.
Kirill Fedoseev Sr. Industrial Designer
Kirill has a post graduate degree from Moscow Technical University. He is an outstanding industrial designer and he possesses exceptional sketching and digital rendering skills. His professional contribution has helped Baren-Boym Company to become the leader in the industrial design field.
Albert V. Sarafanov Sr. Electronics Engineer
Dr. Sarafanov holds Ph.D in mathematical modeling of physical processes from Krasnoyarsk University, Russia. His area of competence includes mathematical modeling of processes in radio-electronic equipment, design and development of aerospace and aviation radio electronic devices. He has seven publications in the area of heat transfer modeling in radio electronic equipment.
Maks Krenin Sr. Design Engineer
Maks has over 30 years of experience in aerospace industry designing custom equipment. He has been with Baren-Boym Company for over 10 years and he has designed numerous medical devices, consumer products and custom capital equipment. Maks has 16 issued patents and 8 publications. He holds BSMS in Mechanical Engineering from Moscow Institute of Technology.
Kirill Puchkov Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Kirill has a post graduate degree from Moscow Aerospace University. He is solid team player with ability to work effectively as an individual and within a group.
Dmitry Lekoncev Sr. Design Engineer
Dmitry has over 7 years of experience in the fields of medical devices, consumer products, industrial equipment. He has graduated from Moscow State Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design.
Andrey Ugolkov Sr. Graphics Designer
Andrey has been with the company for over 8 years. He provides expertise in graphics design, flash presentation programming. Andrey is also responsible for our website development and support.
Sergey Botvinowsky Sr Mechanical Engineer
Sergey received his post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kiev Technical University in 1988. He has been practicing engineering in the military and defense industry. He has several patents issued for his work in the medical device industry. Sergei joined Baren-Boym Company in 2000 and he has been instrumental to the success of the multiple medical device design projects. He brings tremendous expertise in drug delivery device design and he worked on a few delivery device in our company.
